The conference, organised annually by MediaConsortium, is scheduled to hold on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Among the latest corporate organisations to indicate their support for the event are Flour Mills of Nigeria, SIFAX Group, Four Pulley Limited and AXA Mansard.
Flour Mills of Nigeria, a major player in Nigeria’s food and agro-allied industry, joins SIFAX Group, a diversified business conglomerate with operations across maritime, aviation, oil and gas, logistics, financial services and hospitality, in supporting the conference.
Also lending their support are Four Pulley Limited, an out-of-home advertising company, and AXA Mansard, a financial services firm with interests in life insurance and investment.
Their participation adds to a growing list of organisations that have expressed interest in the 2026 conference, underlining the increasing attention being given to conversations around brands, consumers, business growth and market relevance.
Other organisations that had earlier indicated their interest in the event include Rite Foods Ltd, Checkers Custard, Afriglobal Insurance Brokers, Nigerian Breweries (NB), Nestlé Nigeria, PZ Wilmar, Ajinomoto Foods Nigeria, Integrated Indigo and Digisplash, among others.
Stakeholders to converge
The conference is expected to bring together a wide range of stakeholders across Nigeria’s marketing communications and business ecosystem.
Participants are expected to include brand strategists, business leaders, marketing professionals, corporate executives, media practitioners, policymakers, entrepreneurs and students.
The gathering is designed to provide a platform for participants to assess the forces reshaping the marketplace, particularly changing consumer behaviour, emerging market dynamics and the growing influence of consumers in determining how brands compete and create value.
With consumers becoming increasingly informed, connected and empowered, businesses are facing growing pressure to understand their audiences, respond to shifting expectations and demonstrate tangible value beyond conventional product and service offerings.
It is against this backdrop that the organisers have selected “The Value Shift: Strategies for the New Market Reality in the Age of the Empowered Consumer” as the theme for the 2026 edition.
Bayo-Ajayi, Glo digital chief to speak
The conference will feature presentations from prominent industry voices, with Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, President of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), confirmed as the keynote speaker.
Yinka Femi Opadere, Head of Digital at Glo, will serve as the guest speaker.
Their presentations will focus on the conference theme and are expected to set the tone for broader discussions on the changing relationship between consumers, brands and businesses.
Industry experts will subsequently interrogate some of the issues raised during the presentations in a panel session designed to provide practical perspectives on navigating the evolving market environment.
The panel will be moderated by Akonte Ekine, Chief Executive of BrandXchange and Convener of the Consumers Value Awards (CVA).
Panel members are Adewole Lawal, Sustainable Lead, Evercorp Industries; Oke Umurhowho, Head of Marketing, StarTimes; Olusesan Ogunyooye, Head of Marketing, AXA Mansard; and Olabisi Shonibare, Director, Partnerships, Grants Management and Innovations, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency.
Focus on relevance, sustainable value
Discussions at the conference are expected to explore how organisations can adapt their strategies to meet increasingly sophisticated consumer expectations while maintaining competitiveness and building sustainable value.
Beyond marketing and communications, the conversations are expected to touch on broader questions around innovation, customer engagement, sustainability and the ability of businesses to remain relevant in a rapidly changing marketplace.
The MediaConsortium Conference and Awards has, over the years, positioned itself as a platform for thought leadership, professional networking and knowledge exchange within the business and marketing ecosystem.
Organised by MediaConsortium, a brand, business and marketing publication, the annual gathering also recognises brands, organisations and individuals making contributions to value creation, customer engagement, innovation and market relevance.
The 2026 edition is therefore expected to combine industry dialogue with recognition of outstanding contributions, as businesses and professionals continue to navigate a market increasingly shaped by empowered and demanding consumers.
