Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha has announced the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, in a deeply emotional tribute shared with her fans and followers.

The actress disclosed the news on Friday, October 2, 2026, saying she had struggled to find the right words to express the pain of losing her father.

In her tribute, Chioma described her late father with affectionate names including “daddy,” “papa’m,” “obara’m” and “comfort,” reflecting the close bond they shared.

“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord.

“I lost my mother 13 years ago and now that my father is gone, the thought that I have neither parent here anymore breaks my heart in a way I cannot fully explain. So na only me bayi?”

The actress also expressed gratitude for the life her father lived, noting that he had the opportunity to witness his children grow and see his grandchildren.

While mourning his passing, Chioma reflected on the memories they created, particularly during the later period of his life, describing those moments as precious.

“No matter how many years we are given with a parent, we still want one more conversation, one more embrace, one more day.”

Chioma said she had chosen to keep the news private initially as she and her family struggled to process the loss.

She subsequently appealed to the public to remember her, her siblings and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers during the difficult period.

The actress said the family would announce funeral arrangements when they were ready.

Chioma’s loss comes 13 years after the death of her mother, Grace Egoyibo Chukwuka, who died in May 2013.
