Nigeria’s efforts to attract fresh capital into its petroleum industry received a boost as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited presented investment opportunities across the oil and gas value chain at the 2026 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).

The national oil company is using the four-day international energy gathering to engage governments, international oil companies, financial institutions and other industry stakeholders on opportunities for investment and strategic partnerships in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Bashir Bayo Ojulari, led the company’s delegation to the opening ceremony of ADIPEC 2026, which began on Monday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The event also attracted key Nigerian petroleum sector officials, including the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Patience Oyekunle; and the Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan.

Following the opening ceremony, NNPC unveiled its exhibition stand to the international energy community, showcasing its operations and investment prospects across the upstream, midstream and downstream segments of Nigeria’s petroleum industry.

The exhibition is expected to provide the company with opportunities to engage prospective investors and international partners on projects requiring funding, technical expertise and strategic collaboration.

Among the early visitors to the NNPC exhibition stand were the company’s Board Chairman, Ahmadu Musa Kida, members of the board and the President and Chief Executive of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote.

Located at A400 in the Atrium, the NNPC stand is expected to serve as a meeting point for business discussions, investment engagements and partnership opportunities throughout the conference.

Beyond its exhibition activities, the company’s participation also includes presentations by members of its leadership at strategic and technical sessions, where discussions will focus on emerging developments in the global energy industry and opportunities for cooperation.

The opening ceremony featured an address by the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, who set the tone for the conference's strategic discussions and commercial engagements.

ADIPEC 2026, holding from November 2 to 5, is expected to attract more than 239,000 participants from over 170 countries, bringing together government officials, energy executives, investors and technology providers.

NNPC’s participation forms part of efforts to position Nigeria’s petroleum industry before the international investment community, particularly as the country seeks to expand production, develop its gas resources and strengthen infrastructure across the energy value chain.
