    Pull Down The STRONGHOLD

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). When the Bible talks about "strongholds," it doesn't refer to spiritual structures which the enemy has put in place. Observe that this verse 4 is in parenthesis and is explained by verse 5 which is directly connected to verse 3. Now, verse 5 reads "{Inasmuch as we}refute arguments {and}theories {and}reasonings and every proud {and}lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true}knowledge of God; and we lead every thought {and} purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) (2 Corinthians 10:5 AMP). So, it's clear what "strongholds" refer to: ideas, thoughts, principles, arguments and reasoning of men, which are contrary to God's Word. For example, certain folks hold on tenaciously to the belief that God uses sickness to punish His children; that's a stronghold that keeps them in bondage. But we have weapons that are mighty through God in pulling down such stronghold. We use the Word of God to tear down strongholds, whether they're in the lives of others or in our own lives. The Bible shows us that when Jesus came to Nazareth, He couldn't do mighty works there, since the people had a mindset (stronghold) that He was a mere carpenter's son. The next verse tells us that He " ...went round about the villages, teaching" (Mark 6:6). He had to use the Word of God to cure the unbelief which was a product of their mindset. Sometimes, there could also be "imaginations" which keep people in bondage. For example, someone could want to travel, and every time keeps seeing himself in an accident. Or someone keeps having fears of sleeping and not waking up; these are imaginations that are against the Word of God. You have to use the Word of God to arrest such thoughts and make them subject to Christ! You don't have to be in bondage anymore in your mind! Dig into the Word and pull out every Scripture relating to that challenge; begin to speak them forth till you pull down every stronghold, and drown the voice of every contrary thought.
The bible says: “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet ... said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord (Isaiah 38:1-2). Through prayer you can change any hopeless situation. I'm not just referring to the kind of casual praying some folks engage in sometimes; I'm talking about the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of the righteous man! That kind of prayer, according to the Bible makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working (James 5:16AMP). I've seen people who speak in tongues casually when something excites them or when they want to greet a fellow believer. Well, there's nothing wrong with that, but however nice that may seem, such tongues are mere expressions in the realm of the spirit and don't make much impact in your life as an individual. But there's a way to pray in other tongues that stirs the power of God and causes it to produce results for you; I call it "turning your face to the wall." That's the way to pray when you have something to deal with; when there's a hopeless situation you want to change. "Turning your face to the wall" means to turn away from men and the world around you unto God! You shut out all the distractions of life and focus on God-speaking in other tongues. The Bible tells us how king Hezekiah, after the Prophet Isaiah had announced to him God's verdict of death, turned his face to the ""all and prayed intensely. The result of his action was that the sentence of death on him was immediately reversed and the Lord added fifteen more years to his life (Isaiah 38:4-6). Do you have something specific you want to call the attention of the Spirit to? Find a quiet place where your spirit can be calm enough to hear God, and start speaking in other tongues. It may be somewhere behind closed door, an open space or even on your bed-so long as it's a place where you wouldn't be easily distracted; get on your knees before the Lord and begin to pray! Call that thing by name and speak in tongues with the passion and intensity of the Spirit. Soon enough, the Holy Ghost will help you form words with which to address that situation. Somehow, you'll start having the interpretation to what you're saying and you'll find yourself speaking forth God's Word that'll change things.
Death and lift are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21). "The power of the tongue is an unfamiliar subject to many Christians today. The Bible didn't say that death and life are in God's hands. Rather, it says they are in the power of the tongue! The tongue is small in size but it directs the course of your life! Often times, when people want something from God, they'll cry, roll on the floor, whine and bellyache; not realizing that the power to get what they want is in their mouths. Jesus taught on the creative power and potency of our mouth-work in Mark 11 :23: "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall save unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." God has given you His Word and a tongue to create the future you desire. You can be everything God has planned for you to be and attain the greatest height of success in life if you'd learn to use your tongue right. Never talk failure, weakness, sickness, lack or fear! Speak faith¬filled words all the time. Build your future with your tongue. The power to live a successful, prosperous, glorious and victorious life is in your mouth, not with the Lord. He's already done all that's necessary for you to live a glorious life; now He expects your confessions-every word you speak to align with His Word. Are there good things you desire in your life today? All you need do is speak them forth, and you shall have what you say. That's faith! No matter what the problem may be or how big it may seem, the solution is in your mouth; speak God's Word and see it resolved.
