The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon Musa Ahmed Mohammed, along with some top officers of the House, will spend a total of N20 million on ceremonial dresses.
This was made known last week during an analysis of the state’s budget by Dominic Bako Adagadzu, Permanent Secretary in the ministry of finance and economic development, in the state capital in Lafia.
Adagadzu told journalists that the Speaker, his Deputy, the Clerk, Sergeant-at-Arms and staff will be clothed with N20 million.
He also noted that N132 million will be used to buy vehicles, communication gadgets, computers and internet services for the 2013 fiscal year.
Adagadzu maintained that the House needs to be well funded for it to carry out its legislative duties.
