5 Die In Road Crash In Akure

Five men have died in a motor accident along Akure- Ogbese road.
Mr. Sunday Ajayi, Head of Operations, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), confirmed the accident on Tuesday in Akure.
He said that the accident was caused by dangerous over-taking .
Ajayi said that the accident involved a trailer with the registration number Abuja XA 397 GWL and a Volkswagen Jetta marked Lagos AV 800 KSF.
He said that the corpses of the victims had been deposited at the state Specialist Hospital, Akure while the two occupants of the trailer survived the accident.
Ajayi advised motorists to exercise patience on the road, adding that over-taking was not a quick and safe way of driving.
“Knowing the rules and regulations of the road will be of great importance in saving the lives of motorists,” he said.
He, however, urged the motorists to shun the act of over-taking and over-speeding whenever they were on the road.
