Fresh controversy has emerged in the Nigerian entertainment and religious space following claims by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala that she intends to pursue legal action against popular cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, over an alleged unfulfilled promise of marriage.

Speaking during a livestream session with media personality Daddy Freeze, the actress alleged that she was involved in a personal relationship with the pastor and that he had promised to marry her, a commitment she claims was later abandoned in favour of another woman. Ogala stated that she possesses evidence to support her claims and has already begun steps to involve her legal team.

According to her, the alleged relationship took place despite the fact that she was married at the time, a detail she said the pastor was fully aware of. She further made startling claims that she sent intimate videos of herself to the cleric during the period they were allegedly involved, saying the requests for such content came from him.

Ogala maintained that the alleged broken promise forms the basis of her planned lawsuit, insisting that the matter would soon be formally addressed by her lawyers.

As of the time of reporting, Pastor Chris Okafor has not publicly responded to the allegations. The claims have since sparked intense reactions online, with social media users expressing mixed opinions over the revelations and the potential legal implications.

The development adds to a growing list of high-profile disputes involving public figures, once again raising conversations around personal relationships, accountability, and the use of social media platforms to air private grievances.
