Kanye West openly detests paparazzi, but he's willing to put up
with them out of love for his frequently photographed girlfriend, Kim
Kardashian.
The 36-year-old rapper said as much to Kim's mom, Kris Jenner,
during an hour-long talk on her new daytime show, "Kris." According
to him, being with the mother of his first child, North, is worth whatever risk
the relationship might pose to his reputation.
"I could have people saying, this is going to damage your
credibility as an artist or as a designer, and I say, you know, I don't care, I
love this woman," he tells Jenner in a preview clip from the interview.
"Or someone could say ... everyone knows you don't like
paparazzi, but why would you be with this person? And I would say, I'm being
with this person because I love this person and she's worth it to me," the
"Yeezus" artist continued. "My grandfather just passed, and his
whole thing - it was never about money,
it was never about popularity, his whole thing was joy, just joy, just having
joy in his life. And she's my joy, and she brought my new joy into the world,
and there's no paparazzi, and there's no blog comment that can take that joy
from me."
West,
who's occasionally given cantankerous interviews in the past, was all about
positivity in his chat with his daughter North's grandmother. In preview clips,
the two discuss the impact his mother's death had on his will to live, and, yet
again, his adoration of his reality star love.
Kanye and Kim have yet to share photos of baby North, but there's
word that grandma Kris has landed an exclusive. According to E!, which airs the Kardashian-Jenner family's
reality franchise, Ye "proudly shows off" a snapshot of two-month-old
daughter North, who arrived ahead of schedule in mid-June.
"North is very beautiful. She has big cheeks, a lighter
complexion than Kanye, but closer to Kanye's color than Kim's," says one
onlooker who reportedly caught a glimpse of the picture. "She has straight
black hair and almond eyes just like Kim. She has a round face and is really
cute."
E! reports that the image was only displayed "for a
second," and that audience members who attended the taping of Kanye's
interview had their phones taken away so they couldn't duplicate the photo.
The full interview will air Friday on "Kris," which is
currently available only in select markets on Fox. If you're in New York or
Phoenix, tune in at 11 a.m. Those in Los Angeles and Dallas should watch their
Fox stations at 3 p.m., and Minneapolis residents at 12 p.m. If you get Fox 46
Carolinas, set your DVR for 2 p.m.
