Top corporate brands that have bought into the second edition of the programme include Star Lager beer from Nigerian Breweries Plc, Dangote Group, Zenith Bank, Airtel and Samsung.
Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Mr. George Noah, said this year’s event will formally kick off on Saturday, December 7, 2013 with activities that include the Sea Food Festival. ‘
“The countdown will reach its climax at 11:59 hours on January 1, 2014 with a spectacular display of fireworks to usher-in the New Year’’, he said.
He added that a total of 50 A-list Nigerian artistes would perform at this year’s event as against 40 that featured last year. He also named Don
Jazzy the Ambassador for Lagos Countdown 2013. Provision has also been made for a VVIP section which will exclusively seat about 1000 business
leaders, celebrities, traditional rulers and senior government officials as against 200 provided for last year’s event.
Noah enjoined more corporate sponsors to take advantage of the huge marketing and brand visibility leverage opportunities which the platform offers considering that the event was coming at the yuletide season.
He had revealed recently that over N1billion was generated from various economic activities during the maiden 2012 end-of-year edition of the event while about 1000 persons were employed. He added that a combined 200,000 spectators attended the 10-day event at the popular Lagos Bar Beach.
The LASAA boss assured sponsors and participants of the best entertainment experience that underscores the positioning of Lagos as a premium destination for business and leisure during the one month period.
