Nokia 5.1, 3.1 Joins Android Enterprise Recommended List Ahead Of Nokia X5 Launch July 11

Finnish phone manufacturer, Nokia has added two of its existing popular smartphones Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 to join Nokia 8, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 plus and Nokia 6 in the prestigious Android Enterprise Recommended list of phones, which gives the handsets a touch more dignity as the list features only smartphones trusted by Android for business use and have pure stock Android experience.

The Nokia 5.1 runs Android 8.0 Oreo OS and comes in a 2GB+16GB standard memory variant. It has one 16MP camera sensor at the rear and one 8MP camera for selfies. The battery is 2970 mAh and the display 5.5 inches, and Android Enterprise Recommended has certified the handset to be business ready for its telephony, fingerprint and zero touch support.

The smaller Nokia 3.1 runs Android 8.0 Oreo OS too and has the same RAM and storage, but comes with a 5.2-inch display. Its front shooter is the same 8MP but the rear, primary camera is 13MP. The battery is a bit larger at 2990 mAh and the device offers NFC support.
The addition of these handsets means that Nokia has seven of its handsets on the Android Enterprise Recommended list, which features only 38 devices. This makes Nokia among the top brands for businesses to deploy devices from, as some of the bigger names in Android smartphones such as Samsung do not have any device on the list.

The Enterprise Recommended is a list of phones recommended by Android for business use deployment, whereas there is another, longer list of devices called Enterprise-Ready by Android, for all devices, recommended or otherwise, that meet the requirements for enterprise use.
Among other brands on the Recommended list are Huawei, Google, LG, Sony, Motorola, and Blackberry.
For long-term deployment and easy management, Android provides the latest software and security patches for two years from the date of enlisting. The Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1 hence have another two productive years ahead. Let’s see what the upgraded version of Nokia 5.1, the Nokia 5.1 Plus/Nokia X5 might offer.

Nokia 5.1 Plus: Rumoured Specifications, Features
The Nokia 5.1 Plus offers a larger screen at 5.86 inches than the Nokia 5.1, and comes with a better aspect ratio of 19:9. However, there still is a notch housing the front camera at the top and the display is IPS and Full HD plus. The brand or its parent company has given no word about the rumours but it is safe to conclude that the upcoming handset, as per leaks that went viral this week, will have a dual rear camera of 13MP+5MP sensors with dual LED flash, and the same 8MP selfie shooter.

The device will run Android 8.1 Oreo and come in a new 6GB+64GB memory variant apart from the 3GB+32GB variant that the Nokia 5.1 is available in. It will have an octa-core 2.0 GHz processor and latest connectivity features such as WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
