Affleck has previously received treatment in 2001 and 2017 for alcohol addiction. This time his ex wife Jennifer Garner had intervened after she saw alcohol delivered to his home.
The Batman actor revealed via Instagram that he had completed a 40 day treatment period and thanked his family for their support during his struggle.
Affleck and his wife got divorced in 2017 but they remain close in spite of this.
He wrote, “The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say,” his post read.
“It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others.”
Ben Affleck is not the only star who is struggling with addiction. Demi Lovato had a health scare earlier in the year because of an overdose while some other starts have tragically lost their lives in their struggle.
