Instagram Gets New Camera, Ability to Shop From Creators, Fundraising Feature

At its annual developer conference called F8, Facebook announced a plethora of changes to its services and apps. The announcements include changes to the Facebook app, a new addition to its dating service, and updates to the Messenger and Instagram apps.
Facebook revealed that Instagram now has a new and improved camera, fundraising for causes and the ability to shop from creators. These new features should start rolling out in the near future.

Instagram at F8 – What’s new
New and improved camera
Instagram’s camera sees a major overhaul with the new update. The revamp makes it easier to quickly use popular creative tools like effects and interactive stickers, allowing you to express yourself better.
Apart from this, Instagram also added a new Create Mode that lets users share without a photo or video.

Fundraising for causes
Instagram is also using its reach to enable its users to fundraise for causes easily. Starting today, Instagram users in the US can raise money for non-profit organisations directly through Instagram stories using donation stickers. Facebook mentions that the entire donation amount goes directly to the recipient organisation and that it does not keep any cut.

Shop from creators
Now you can also purchase that jacket or that pair of shades worn by your favourite creator directly without leaving Instagram. Tapping on the photo will reveal the product along with its price, and you get an option to purchase it from within the Instagram app.
This feature will of course require the creators to tag their products in their posts. Instagram will roll out this feature to a small group of creators over the next week with plans to expand it to a wider group over time.
