Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with Exynos Processor Faces Major Issues

A number of Exynos Galaxy S20 Ultra owners are complaining about poor autofocus issues in the camera app and overheating issues with the device. They are also complaining about poor battery life and noting that the device is only giving them around 3.5-4 hours of screen-on time on a single charge. That's pretty poor battery life for a device that has a massive 5,000mAh battery.

Samsung has already rolled out multiple software updates to fix autofocus issues with the Galaxy S20 Ultra's 108MP camera. While the updates have improved things, there is still room for improvement. As for overheating issues, this is a common complaint from all Galaxy S20 owners who have the Exynos variant.

Benchmarks have already made it clear that the Exynos 990 chip inside the Galaxy S20 is nowhere near as fast or as power efficient as the Snapdragon 865 found inside the U.S. variants of the device. Most S20 users report their device starts overheating within a few minutes of heavy gaming or if they use the camera app on their device for an extended period of time. The performance discrepancy between the two chips has even led Samsung fans to start a petition asking the company to stop using Exynos processors in their devices.

The Galaxy S20 Ultra costs $1,400 and users spending so much on a device would not be expecting to face such niggling issues with it. Samsung is possibly still working on fine-tuning the camera performance of the Galaxy S20 series, but it needs to work on quickly resolving all the other basic issues with the devices.
