The Motorola Razr (2019) is an evolved form of Motorola’s iconic Razr phone and this is the real charm. The design of the company’s first-ever foldable display phone is based on a phone that had its own glamour at a certain age.
Motorola added a foldable display to it and made it a viable phone of today. But the company’s efforts do not stop there as it plans to bring more foldable phones to the market.
In a recent podcast of Reframed Tech channel, Lenovo South Africa general manager Thibault Dousson confirmed that there is a new iteration of the Razr phone coming up and it will come up as soon as in September.
He didn’t utter a word on its details nor did he reveal any other particulars like pricing but he did make a mention of the second generation Razr at one more point of time in the podcast (at 42-minute mark).
So, we are unable to tell you what new skills the successor to the Razr foldable phone will come up with. The currently available Razr foldable phone carries a flip phone design that folds out vertically. It carries mid-range specifications like Snapdragon 710 SoC compared to the super expensive Galaxy Fold. So, expect the successor to follow the same path and hold less expensive price tag compared to other foldable phones.
While the Motorola Razr was modest on specs, it was exceptional on design. In fact, it has inspired its competitors to follow the same path of clamshell design. Samsung, for instance, launched the Z Flip in February and it is also rumored to build more such foldable phones.
