    COVID-19: Total Cases Exceed 23,000 as Nigeria Records 684 New Infections

    Nigeria has recorded 684 new cases of COVID-19, with the latest update, the total tally of infected people in the country rose to 23,298.
    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced this on Friday via its official Twitter handle.

    NCDC also announced the discharge of 431 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported.

     The new confirmed cases were reported in 18 states and the Federal  Capital Territory on Friday night.
    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that Lagos recorded the highest number of cases with 259 infections, while Oyo, Katsina, Delta and Rivers. reported 76, 69, 66 and 46 cases respectively.

    Others were: Ogun-23, Edo-22, Osun-22, Ebonyi-21, FCT-20, Kaduna-16, Ondo-10, Imo-9, Abia-9, Gombe-5, Plateau-4, Bauchi-4, Ekiti-2 and Anambra-1

    There was an increase in the number of infections ( 684) reported on Saturday compared to the number (594) reported on Thursday.

    Nigeria has so far tested 125,090 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 26th of June 2020, 684 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 23,298 cases have been confirmed, 8253 cases have been discharged and 554 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
