    Nigeria Records 290 New Cases of COVID-19, Total Now 46,867

    A total of 290 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known late Monday.

    The new cases brings the number of confirmed Coronavirus infections in Nigeria to 46,867.

    In a post on its Twitter handle, the health agency said, five deaths were recorded from the virus bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to 950.

    Also announced the discharge of 160 patients from isolation centers across the country, taking the total number of people discharged to 33,346

    Lagos and Plateau reported 82 new cases each to lead the chart.
    While Oyo recorded 19 new cases of coronavirus FCT, Edo and Kaduna had 18, 16 and 15 cases respectively .

    Other states with new infections are Enugu-9, Ogun-9, Kano-8, Kwara-8, Cross River-5, Ondo-5, Rivers-5, Ekiti-4, Imo-3 and Borno-2

    Nigeria has so far tested 319,851 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 10th of August 2020, 290 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 46,867 cases have been confirmed, 33,346 cases have been discharged and 950 deaths have been recorded 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
