    Nigeria Records 4 Additional Deaths, 410 New COVID-19 Cases

    With this latest update, the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria rose 49,895, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday night announced 410 new cases of COVID-19 in country.

    NCDC added that COVID-19 fatalities have risen to 981 after 4 more deaths were recorded. While 217 people were discharged from various isolation centers in the country. 

    Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that the new infections were recorded in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    According to the breakdown released by health agency, Lagos took the lead with 210 cases, FCT with 45 cases, Ondo with 30 cases and Plateau had 21 cases.

    Other states with new cases include: Edo-19, Ogun-16, Oyo-13, Nasarawa-12, Bauchi-11, Enugu-10, Kwara-7, Kaduna-6, Anambra-4, Ebonyi-3, Abia-2 and Rivers-1.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 355,196 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 18th of August 2020, 410 new confirmed cases and 4 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

    Till date, 49,895 cases have been confirmed, 37,051 cases have been discharged and 981 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
