BBNaija Lockdown: Laycon Win's N85m Star Prize

Big Brother Naija housemate, Laycon has emerged the winner of the Lockdown edition, beating all the other housemates to the grand prize.

The reality star was announced winner of the fifth season of BBNaija by the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Sunday at the grand finale.

Fellow housemate, Dorathy, emerged the 1st runner up while Nengi was declared the 2nd runner up.

Laycon led by 60 per cent votes followed by Dorathy with 21.85 per cent votes. However, Nengi had 15.03 per cent votes while Neo and Vee had 1.94 per cent and 1.18 per cent votes, respectively.

The first housemate to be evicted on the final day was Vee followed by Neo. Nengi got the booth the Dorathy before Laycon was announced the winner of season 5.

Laycon had been the projected winner of the show for quite a while having become very popular with viewers and fans of the popular reality TV show.

Celebrities and other Nigerians had thrown their weight behind him and fans had voted massively to see him emerge winner.

Other evicted housemates made it to the live show , except Erica who was disqualified after her fracas with Laycon. It has been a Topsy-Turvey 10 weeks and the expectations would be high for the next edition.

The Africa's biggest reality TV show, BBNaija kicked-off Sunday July 19, 2020 with 20 housemates welcomed into the BBNaija lockdown house to jostle for the grand prize of N85m.

The breakdown of the grand prize for BBNaija season five lockdown edition includes N30 million cash prize; a two-bedroom apartment courtesy Revolution Plus; a top of the range SUV from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors; a trip to Dublin courtesy Guinness; home appliances courtesy Scanfrost.

Others are a trip to Dubai packaged by Travelbeta; a year’s supply of Indomie noodles, Munch it, and Colgate toothpaste; a year’s supply of Pepsi, a branded chiller, trip to watch the UEFA Champions League finale; and a brand new Oppo mobile smartphone.
