    Nigeria Records 176 New Cases of COVID-19


    Nigeria on Tuesday confirmed 176 new cases of Covid-19 with no coronavirus-linked death in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The new confirmed cases raised the country’s tally to 57,613 according to Nigeria  Centre for Disease Control via  its official Twitter handle.

    Also also reported that 162 patients who had been treated and recovered from the infection were discharged on Tuesday.

    A  breakdown of the new report shows that 73 cases were confirmed in Lagos, while Plateau had 50 COVID-19 infections, FCT reported 17 cases and Rivers confirmed 8 cases.

    Other states affected by the virus on Tuesday include: Ondo-6, Niger-5, Ogun-5, Edo-3, Kaduna-3, Oyo-2, Bauchi-1, Bayelsa-1, Delta-1 and Nasarawa-1

    According to the agency, till date, 57,613 cases have been confirmed, 48,836 cases have been discharged and 1,100 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    NCDC said that a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC) activated at Level 3, had continued to coordinate national response activities across the country.
