The new update brings the tally of infections in the country to 58,062, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
In its daily update on its verified Twitter handle @NCDCgov said that the new cases were found in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Lagos and Plateau recorded the highest number of cases with 51 cases each, followed by FCT with 29 cases, Rivers with 18 cases and Ondo with 12 cases.
Other states with new cases include: Oyo-9, Osun-8, Gombe-7, Ogun-7, Kaduna-5, Enugu-4, Edo-3, Jigawa-3, Kano-3, Benue-1, Delta-1 and Sokoto-1.
Nigeria has tested 494,577 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.
According to the NCDC, on the 25th of September 2020, 213 new confirmed cases and 1 death were recorded in Nigeria.
Till date, 58,062 cases have been confirmed, 49,606 cases have been discharged and .... deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Today's cumulative discharged cases includes 364 recovered patients in Katsina State who were managed in the community.
