The latest update,brought the number of infected people in the country to 59,583. Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known via its official twitter handle.
NCDC added that 357 people were discharged from various isolation centers in the country.
Data obtained from the NCDC’s website shows that Lagos took the lead with 41 cases, while Rivers, Osun and Nasarawa reported 19, 17 and 13 cases respectively.
Other states with infected people include:
Kaduna (5), Anambra (5), Edo (3), Ogun (3), Ondo (3), Katsina (2), Niger (2), Plateau (1) and Akwa Ibom (1).
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 538,815 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
According to the health agency, on the 6th of October 2020, 118 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria
Till date, 59,583 cases have been confirmed, 51,308 cases have been discharged and 1,113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
