Zidane Hails Sergio Ramos After 100th Madrid Goal

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has joined an elite crowd at the Bernabeu by notching up his 100th career goal for Los Blancos.

The Spaniard headed home in Real's 3-2 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night to hit a century of goals for the La Liga champions in what has been a distinguished and often controversial career.

Ramos has often drawn criticism for his disciplinary record, but the 34-year-old has established himself as one of the best defenders of his generation and has now become the 19th player to notch up 100 strikes in the famous white jersey.

The former Sevilla man has done so in 659 appearances for Real Madrid, with Ramos scoring at least three goals every season in all competitions for Los Blancos since his arrival 15 years ago - and the centre-back already boasts a trio of strikes from nine matches this term.

Ramos has hit double figures in three separate campaigns over the past five years (2016-17, 2018-19 and 2019-20), with last season being his best on the attacking front as he scored 13 times for Zinedine Zidane's side - with 11 of those coming in their triumphant league campaign.

Fernando Hierro is the only other recognised defender to hit a century of goals for the Spanish giants, but the 52-year-old was often deployed as a midfielder during his time at the Bernabeu.
