    Nigeria Records 11 Additional Deaths, 806 New COVID-19 Infections

    Nigeria has recorded 806 new cases of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19 infections with 11 deaths  recorded and 374 people discharged after recovering from the virus infections.

    With the new cases confirmed in 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday, a total of 77,013 COVID-19 infections have now been recorded across the country.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this via its official twitter page.

    In the latest information disclosed by the health agency on Twitter, Lagos reported 287 cases of the virus infection, FCT had 255 cases, Kaduna had 36 cases and Akwa-Ibom confirmed 29 cases.

    Other states with new cases include: Katsina-25, Rivers-25, Kwara-21, Bauchi-19, Kano-15, Ondo-14, Plateau-13, Yobe-12, Nasarawa-11, Ebonyi-9, Gombe-8, Abia-7, Delta-4, Imo-4, Osun-3, Anambra-2, Borno-2, Cross River-1, Edo-1, Ekiti-1, Jigawa-1 and Ogun-1.

    Since the beginning of the outbreak in Nigeria in February, more than 869,362 samples have been tested by NCDC, out of which 77,013 were positive.

    According to the NCDC, on the 18th of December 2020, 806 new confirmed cases and 11 deaths were recorded in Nigeria

    Till date, 77,013 cases have been confirmed, 67,484 cases have been discharged and 1212 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
