However, 1,065 patients have recovered from COVID-19, tested negative twice for the disease at an interval of 24 hours and been discharged from isolation centers. People discharged today includes 536 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
The total number of cases in the country now stands at 143,516,
while death toll has risen to 118,012 and the total number of recoveries
increased to 1,710 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control disclosed this on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.
The NCDC stated that the new infections were reported from 19
states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos, the financial center of the metropolis continues to
lead the country with 236 new cases followed FCT with 123 and Plateau with 92.
Others states with new infections are Benue-63, Katsina-53, Oyo-50, Osun-45, Kaduna-43, Edo-33, Ogun-31, Ebonyi-31, Akwa Ibom-30, Kano-26, Gombe-18, Bauchi-16, Delta-12, Imo-11, Cross River-10, Rivers-10 and Niger-5.
