    COVID-19: 39 New Cases Recorded in 5 States, FCT

    Nigeria recorded 39 new COVID-19 infections in 5 states  and the Federal Capital Territory today as the average daily case count continues to drop below 50 marks in the nation.

    The health officials logged 39 new infections today, up from 8 on Wednesday and 17 on Tuesday.

    According to Thursday’s report, 34 cases were recorded in Lagos, while Ebonyi, Ekiti, FCT, Jigawa and Rivers 1 case each.

    Today's report includes, data from Lagos State recorded over the last two days. Also no cases reported from Imo, Kaduna, Kano, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, and Sokoto States

    The death toll in the nation stands at 2,117 as no live were lost to the virus in the past 24 hours.

    Meanwhile, 163,535 Nigeria residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. Resolved cases on Thursday increased by 7

    There were more new cases than resolved cases on Thursday.

    The number of active, lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria has increased to 1,490 today. The active caseload in the nation was 1,458 the previous day 

    The country has registered 167,142 cases of the virus since February 27, 2020, the Nigeria Centre for  Disease Control said on Thursday night while giving the daily report.
