    COVID-19: 64 New Cases Reported in Nigeria

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its COVID-19 infections update, said that 64 new cases were confirmed in the country.

    The health agency stated that the additional infections raised the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 166,982.

    Data obtained from NCDC shows that the new cases were reported in 10 states.

    The 64 reported cases includes 18 in Yobe, 16 in Lagos, 10 in Delta and 7 in Kastina.

    Gombe had 5 cases, Edo, Kano and Rivers reported 2 cases each, Kaduna and Kwara reported 1 case each.

    At least 69 patients have been discharged after testing negative to the disease and no coronavirus-related deaths were recorded from the virus on Wednesday.

    As of Wednesday, Nigeria has 1,534 active cases of COVID-19, down from the previous day when it was at  1,542.

    With the new update the health agency, NCDC revealed that till date, a total  of 166,982  cases have been confirmed, 163,328 cases discharged and 2,117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
