    COVID-19: 48 New Cases Recorded in 7 States, FCT

    Nigeria today reported 48 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, in 7 states and the Federal Capital Territory, data from health officials showed, with no death linked to the virus.

    According to the breakdown, Ondo lead with 14 cases followed by Oyo with 10, Gombe had 6 and FCT with 5.

    Ogun reported 4 cases, Delta, Ekiti-and Rivers reported 3 cases each.

    Today’s report does not include data from Lagos State. And 5 states with zero cases reported: Plateau, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Kano and Kaduna

    The fresh cases pushed the tally of infections in the country to 164,652, and the deaths count to 2,125 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC.

    The total number of people who have recuperated from the coronavirus disease rose to 168,915, after 29 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals across the country on Wednesday.

    Active cases in Nigeria further increased to 2,138.
