    Nigeria: 665 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Additional Deaths Reported

    Nigeria reported 665 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 8 deaths due to the infection on Saturday, according to Nigeria Centre  for Disease Control NCDC.

    The health officials also reported that 117 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals across the nation.

    With the new cases, the overall infection tally in the nation climbed to 181,962 Of this, 166,826 patients have recovered from the disease.

    The death toll now stands at 2,219

    Presently, there are 12,917 active cases of the novel coronavirus in Nigeria. Active cases increased by 550 in the past 24 hours.

    Data released by the health officials shows that, Lagos, Anambra, Oyo and Akwa-Ibom  reported the highest  number of cases with 369, 68, 63 and 48  respectively.

    Kwara reported 28 cases, Rivers had 26, Edo had 21, Ekiti had 15 and Ondo reported 13 cases.

    Other states with single digit on Saturday are Delta-7, FCT-3, Ogun-3 and Gonbe-1.

    Today’s report includes six states  with zero cases, Kaduna, Kano, Nasarawa, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto.
