    Nigeria Reports 7 Deaths, 637 New COVID-19 Cases

    Nigeria reported 637 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday in 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    The new COVID-19 infections reported by the country pushed its pandemic cases tally to 188,880.

    According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC COVID-19 dashboard, about 347 coronavirus patients recovered between Tuesday and Wednesday and 7 additional deaths recorded from the disease.

    The total number of COVID-19 recoveries in Nigeria since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 169,382 and the death count stands at 2,288.

    There are now 17,210 active cases across the nation, an increase of 283 from Tuesday's update.

    A breakdown of the NCDC data revealed that most of the new cases recorded Wednesday were found in Lagos-322, Rivers-70 and Edo-54.

    Other states with new infections include Delta-34, Akwa Ibom-31, Kwara-31, FCT-29, Ekiti-17, Ogun-14, Osun-10, Kebbi-8, Cross River-5, Plateau-3, Taraba-3, Kaduna-2, Bayelsa-2, Benue-1, Enugu-1 and Kano-1.

    The health officials also noted that  Gombe, Kano, Nasarawa, Oyo, Sokoto, and Zamfara reported zero cases.
