Thursday’s case count is higher than Wednesday’s, which saw 559
new infections reported.
The report also shows that, after fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19, the health officials reported the discharged of 218 new patients.
Currently, active case in the Nigeria increased
by 502, as total active rose to 9,591.
However, NCDC on Thursday via its official Facebook page, noted that
the country’s total infection since the outbreak currently stands at 197,773,
the death toll from the virus reached 2,585 and the number of successfully
recovered patients rose to 185,597.
The breakdown of the NCDC data revealed that Rivers, Lagos, Edo,
Imo and FCT reported the highest figure of 257, 157, 85, 63 and 33 cases
respectively.
The data also showed that 28 cases of the virus were
confirmed in Delta, 27 in Kaduna, 17 in Benue, 13 cases each in Akwa Ibom and Ekiti
and 12 in Taraba.
While Bayelsa reported five cases, Kano and Ogun had four cases
each, Oyo had three and two cases each in Abia, Nasarawa and Plateau.
Meanwhile Ondo, Osun and Sokoto are the only three states with
no cases recorded on Thursday.
In conclusion, NCDC stated that today's report includes 12 positve
cases from Taraba state on 7th September 2021. And cases from Edo state are
backlogs from 7th, 8th and 9th September 2021.
