With the theme, Hospitality and Tourism Industry in the New
Normal: Strategies for Sustainability, the event will commence on November 15,
2021, and runs through 18, at the Etal Hotels, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun,
Ikeja Lagos.
According to NHCI Secretary, Victor Olanrewaju Kayode, the
conference is an annual programme that brings together professionals looking
into the various aspects of Hospitality, Catering and Tourism development.
“It is an assembly of caterers, lecturers, nutritionists,
housekeepers and hospitality practitioners in the industry, hospital, corporate
organisations and educational institutions to review modern trends in the
practice of hospitality and catering in Nigeria. It is also our usual avenue to
review current and prevailing government policies as it affects the industry
and practice.”
Kayode further said: “To demonstrate the Institute’s
responsiveness to the needs of its stakeholders and encourage members of the
profession to have the adequate and technical knowledge and skill in the drive
towards maintaining professional excellence, NHCI under the resourceful
leadership of the National President, Mrs. Bola Dada, has also highlighted
sub-themes on operational challenges and strategies for harnessing
opportunities, Security and safety complications – a proactive approach,
onboarding innovation and technological interventions in hospitality
operations, review of sustainable environmental policies and impact on tourism
and hospitality operations, exploring financial opportunities and its sustainability
and welfare catering – a post COVID
paradigm.
He, however, noted that new practitioners into the professional membership grades would also be inducted at the event, while Fellows and Corporate Members Luncheon will hold with the investiture of the new President for early 2022 to equally review governmental policies affecting the sector and practice.
