    Automation: JCNC, Aviation Ministry Sensitize Workers on ICT

    Aviation industry have been advised to improve themselves in the area of information technology in order to fit into the new personnel automation system to be introduced by the government.

    At a sensitization program held at the conference room of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja for union leaders in the aviation sector, the Chairman Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council (JCNC) Comrade Hector Nnadi said the sensitization program became necessary in order to acquaint members of their expected role before the implementation of the automation system.

    Nnadi explained that similar programme had been held in various areas of the country in order to ensure that workers were fully aware of the new order in the personnel department of the various parastatals.

    He said the era of unions banging tables were over adding that unions ought to add value to the system as critical stakeholders in the system and workers needed to be briefed on government plans not to be caught unaware.

    Nnadi said the unions were awakening the spirit of workers towards building themselves to the challenges ahead when the personnel automation system commenced.

    “Personnel automation system to me, is not something new its already in there and it’s something that is going to unfold in details. The point is get ready for this automation and flow with it”

    Also speaking, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq secretary of JCNC explained the the sensitization became necessary as every economy globally was going through transformation and aviation which drives the economy can not afford to be left behind.

    Sadiq urged workers to embrace the new order towards their work environment as technology has changed everything.
