At a sensitization program held at the conference room of
the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Ikeja for union leaders in the
aviation sector, the Chairman Joint Consultative and Negotiating Council (JCNC)
Comrade Hector Nnadi said the sensitization program became necessary in order
to acquaint members of their expected role before the implementation of the
automation system.
Nnadi explained that similar programme had been held in
various areas of the country in order to ensure that workers were fully aware
of the new order in the personnel department of the various parastatals.
He said the era of unions banging tables were over adding
that unions ought to add value to the system as critical stakeholders in the
system and workers needed to be briefed on government plans not to be caught
unaware.
Nnadi said the unions were awakening the spirit of workers
towards building themselves to the challenges ahead when the personnel
automation system commenced.
“Personnel automation system to me, is not something new its
already in there and it’s something that is going to unfold in details. The
point is get ready for this automation and flow with it”
Also speaking, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq secretary of JCNC
explained the the sensitization became necessary as every economy globally was
going through transformation and aviation which drives the economy can not
afford to be left behind.
