A lot of Nigerian students fled Ukraine last week after
Russian military forces invaded the country.
The stranded Nigerians were evacuated to Nigeria following
the intervention of the Federal Government with the cooperation of the
governments of Ukraine’s neighboring countries.
Amb Gabriel Aduda who is the Permanent Secretary of the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that these students can continue their
education in Romania.
”Romanian Ministry of Education has offered to take in
Nigerian students fleeing Ukraine to study in their universities. We are also
in talks with Poland, Hungary, and Greece to do the same.
”We are discussing processes to seamlessly achieve this and
have Nigerian students fixed up as soon as possible. Modalities will be announced
shortly by the MFA!” he wrote on his Twitter handle.
