The latest data released by the Nigeria Centre
for Disease Control NCDC on Monday, which indicates a significant decrease in
the figure of newly confirmed cases, showed that the cases were reported in 4 states.
The breakdown of the data revealed that Kaduna
state reported 5 of the new cases, Delta and Rivers reported 3 cases each and Oyo
reported 1 case.
It noted that the fatality toll remains at 3,142,
as Nigeria did not record a single COVID-19 death for twenty-fourth consecutive
days.
NCDC added that a total of 249,373 persons have now been discharged nationwide, including one new recoveries recorded on Monday.
NCDC data showed that the country’s active COVID-19 cases increased by 18. Total number of active cases now stands at 2,486 from 2,468 it was since on the 11th of March.
As of March 14, the country has recorded 255,001
cases of the novel coronavirus cases, while 249,373 people have recovered from
the disease, and 3,142 COVID-19 fatalities have been confirmed.
NCDC added that today’s report includes a
backlog of 4 confirmed cases reported in Kaduna state for 10th March 2022
Also stated that 8 States, Cross River, Ekiti,
Kano, Nasarawa, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto reported zero cases on Monday.
