This was contained in a press release
signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission,
Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, on Thursday.
Recall that the Federal Government,
following several appeals from stakeholders, had approved an eventual extension
of the NIN-SIM linkage deadline to the 31st of March, 2022 (today).
According to the statement, the commission
has thus directed that the National Identity Management Commission mercifully
offer round-the-clock enrollment service for the next few days, to enable
prompt registration of Nigerians yet to comply with the directive.
The commission, on behalf of the Honourable
Minister, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Umar Garba Danbatta, and the
Director-General/CEO of NIMC, Aliyu Aziz, therefore, called on citizens to take
advantage of this window of opportunity to complete the process of their NIN
enrollment and verification within the next few days.
