The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)
stated on Saturday that the new infections were recorded in four states of the
federation.
It noted that Lagos and Rivers state recorded two
infections each, while Bauchi and Nasarawa state reported one case each.
According
to the health officials, seven states reported zero cases: Abia, Delta,
FCT, Kaduna, Kano, Plateau and Sokoto.
NCDC added that the new infections raised the
country’s total to 255,685.
Nigeria has lost 3,143 lives to the virus
since it broke out in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
Meanwhile, 249,890 patients were confirmed to
have recovered and discharged across the country since the outbreak in Nigeria in 2020.
NCDC noted that this report includes data for 21st and 22nd April 2022.
