Nigeria registered 36 new COVID-19 cases, while another 18 patients were discharged across seven states of the federation and no patient succumbed to the infection.
Again, no patients lost their lives to
COVID-19 in Nigeria, leaving the death toll in the country at 3,143,
while 36 fresh cases raised the infections tally to 255,895, Nigeria’s health
official data shows.
The new data was disclosed via Nigeria Centre
for Disease Control NCDC Twitter handle on Tuesday morning.
Of the new cases, Kano state, a city in north and
the second largest city in Nigeria after Lagos reported fourteeninfections.
Followed by Lagos and Oyo states, the two southwestern
of Nigeria reported six infections each.
While Rivers in the southern region had five infections, Imo in the South-East had three infections, Kaduna
in the northwest had one infection and Sokoto in the extreme northwest of
Nigeria also reported one infection.
NCDC data further shows that a total of 18 more
patients recovered from the viral disease and were discharged, this raises the country’s
recovery count to 249,961.
The health officials noted that Delta, Ekiti, FCT, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Plateau makes the lists of the seven states with zero infection on Tuesday.
