According to the bulletin released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC via its Twitter page, as of Sunday, the country has recorded 255,796 laboratory-confirmed cases since the first outbreak in Nigeria.
Most of the new cases were recorded in Lagos, the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria reported 12 cases.
Followed by Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) which recorded 6 cases, Kaduna had 5, Bauchi, Kano and Rivers reported 2 cases and Delta had 1 case.
While four states reported zero cases: Abia, Cross River, Plateau, and Sokoto.
Meanwhile, NCDC added that six persons recuperated from the infection and were discharged from hospitals, this raises the total number of recoveries to 249,920. And 3,143 people have died from complications after contracting the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.
NCDC noted that the report includes a backlog of 5 confirmed cases reported in Kaduna on 28th -29th April 2022.
