Holt McCallany and Nick Offerman in a still from Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two |
The comedy star finally breaks the silence about joining up with Tom Cruise for the latest Mission: Impossible movie out this year.
Nick Offerman will be joining the already massive cast for
the upcoming Mission: Impossible sequel, Dead Reckoning. Offerman made a name
for himself playing Ron Swanson on the NBC hit Parks and Rec and will star in
the upcoming Amazon Prime series, A League of Their Own.
Writer/director Christopher McQuarrie took to Twitter with
the announcement saying that the cast has grown and will talk more about it on
the 200th episode of the Light the Fuse podcast. Joining Offerman will be Janet
McTeer (Ozark)--both roles remain unknown.
McQuarrie also posted a preview of the upcoming episode of
the podcast, which will go live on August 3.
"Nick is quite literally drinking from the firehose,
getting his first full bore Mission: Impossible seeing-how-the-sausage-is-made,"
McQuarrie said on the podcast.

"It's really fun and fascinating. There's a handful of
very high caliber actors that I’m getting to work with as well as the lead guy,
and getting to toss the ball around is incredible," Offerman said.
"Getting to watch them deal with the fire hose technique is fascinating
because everybody brings a great deal of elan and panache and years of
experience. And watching McQ and Tom do their thing, you can't really describe
it to people. You have to be there. I've never seen anything like it. It's like
they're painting an incredible mural and we're all the paints."
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One will hit
theaters first on July 14, 2023, before Offerman's debut in the second part,
which will arrive in 2024.
