The whole Nollywood community came together to celebrate Agbako’s unrivalled contributions to the growth and cultural enrichment of the film industry as he celebrated his 100th birthday.
The highlight of the occasion was Tampa’s presenting of a precious gift to Agbako: a giant frame recognising his illustrious career and effect on the film business.
Agbako, who clocks 100 years of age, a few days ago was
widely celebrated in the Nollywood industry as many actors and actresses posted
his pictures on their social media pages, especially the “Yoruba” film
industry.
A close friend of Agbako, renowned director Tunde Kelani, captured the spirit of the party on his Instagram page.
“Happening now at Abeokuta city, bumper celebration, for the
Agbako of theatre, and film, the oldest thespian in Nigeria, Charles Olumo
Sanyaolu at 100, Thank You TAMPAN”
President of TAMPAN Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin sent his warm wishes, as he couldn’t make it to the venue.
It is understandable that Mr. Latin is currently at his foundation, where he
organises free medical check up for fellow TAMPAN members and Yoruba actors in
the film industry.
"Thanked God for the success of the historic event. “It went well,” he said.
In attendance at the venue are other Nollywood veterans,
including the likes of Jide Kosoko, Yomi Fashlanso, Adebayo Salami, and other
veteran actors.
Agbako’s artistic journey serves as an inspiration to future generations of actors and filmmakers, with more than seven decades of acting greatness under his belt.
His contributions to Nigerian movies have earned him a position in entertainment history.
