The Chartered Institute of Treasury Management (CITM) and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at offering a dual certification programme for Masters degree students in Finance and Treasury Management.

Mr Olumide Adedoyin, the Registrar, CITN, said in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, that the collaboration represents a significant milestone in advancing professional education and expertise in finance and treasury management in Nigeria.

According to him, under the terms of the MoU, CITM, a recognised leader in treasury management education and certification, will provide professional certification up to the level of Associate membership.

The registrar said the certification would serve as a powerful catalyst for equipping finance and treasury management professionals with the knowledge and skills required to excel in their roles.

He said the dual certification programme is a first of its kind in Nigeria, adding that it is poised to address the pressing need for highly-trained finance and treasury experts.

He said by combining the academic rigour of ABU with the practical insights and professional recognition offered by CITM, the programme would produce a cadre of well-prepared professionals.

He added that those professionals would be able to navigate the complexities of finance and treasury management in today’s dynamic business environment.

He said, “CITM is proud to partner with ABU, a prestigious institution with a rich history of academic excellence.”

He said, together, the duo would empower finance and treasury management professionals with the tools they needed to drive financial growth and resource management in Nigeria.

“The dual certification programme will not only elevate the competencies of professionals but also contribute significantly to the management of resources and economic growth in Nigeria.

The statement quoted Prof. Kabir Bala, the Vice Chancellor, ABU, as saying that the collaboration was with enthusiasm and excitement on the part of the University.
