GE Vernova, a planned, purpose-built global energy company, today concluded its Compliance Week, a series of events aimed at emphasizing the critical role of ethics and compliance in business growth and success. The week-long initiative, held across Nigeria with more than 100 attendees, involved employees, suppliers, legal experts and customers, highlighting GE Vernova’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of integrity and transparency.

“At GE Vernova, we believe that integrity is the cornerstone of any successful business. Our Compliance Week is an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to ethical practices and ensure that all stakeholders are aligned with our unwavering standard to act with unyielding integrity,” stated Ozim Ifeoma Ibeziako, Executive General Counsel for GE Vernova’s Gas Power business in Africa.

The Compliance Week kicked off with a Suppliers Event in Lagos. The event, held annually, reinforced GE Vernova’s commitment to foster closer relationships with supply chain stakeholders while sharing best practices on integrating compliance into business processes. The team also organized a customer roundtable in Abuja under the theme, ‘Working with ethics and compliance in the Sub-Saharan Africa region’, where leaders in the power industry discussed the trends, challenges, and opportunities in the wider power sector while also outlining ways to strengthen integrity and compliance.

Throughout the week, participants were reminded of GE Vernova’s unwavering commitment to ethical practices through the company’s two core programs: The Spirit and The Letter. The Spirit embodies the company’s values and principles, while The Letter outlines the specific policies and procedures that guide ethical behavior. These programs provide a comprehensive framework for employees, suppliers, and customers to uphold high standards of integrity.

Matthew Nobles, the Chief Compliance Officer for GE Vernova in the Middle East & Africa stated, “GE Vernova remains committed to spotlighting the importance of ethics and compliance in workplaces across Sub-Saharan Africa. We are encouraged by the eager commitment of our vendors, partners and customers to work together as advocates and champions for ethical business practices everywhere we do business. By fostering a culture of transparency and accountability, we can ensure that our business is conducted with the highest ethical standards, ultimately contributing to growth and success.”

GE Vernova’s Compliance Week is a testament to the company’s dedication to maintaining a culture of integrity. By engaging with employees, suppliers, and customers, GE Vernova is highlighting the importance of compliance in achieving sustainable growth and success.
