The Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR) has strongly advocated for the swift presentation of the White Paper stemming from the Osun 2023 Education Summit.

The Human Rights group, in a letter on Tuesday, signed by the State branch Chairman, Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, and submitted to the office of Osun State Head of Service, Abeere which obtained by this medium.

The letter reads, “Firstly, we would like to inform you that we of the above-name organization summit our contribution to the Osun 2023 education summit with the title document Science Education is in the State of Comatose: Step by Step Intervention to Reposition Science Education into World Class Standard in Osun State – Comrade Olowu Emmanuel, State Chairman, Committee for Defense of Human Rights (CDHR). And we are glad that the document played a significant role in the recommendations of the summit.

“A glance through the report and recommendation of the Osun 2023 education summit indicate how comprehensive the document was for it covers all significant area that will advance the Educational sector of the state if the recommendation is fully and strictly implemented.

“However, we are writing to draw your attention to the urgency in making the white paper available because the success of the summit should not only be measured by its occurrence but by the availability of the white paper, and strict implementation of the policy.

“Furthermore, there are allegations which are centred on your office and the Ministry of Education by stakeholders, stating that for some personal reasons, the white paper of the 2023 education summit has been delayed since the last three months the committee led by Professor Oyesoji Aremu presented its report and recommendation to the Osun state government

“We would like you to expedite actions towards the presentation of the white papers and lay a powerful foundation for the implementation of the policy as that is the key towards the concretization of the brilliant and patriotic jobs carried out by the many academic intellectuals that participated in the all-inclusive Osun 2023 Education summit.

“We therefore advise that you should be more determined and affirmative in your approaches to ensure that the white paper presentation is not hindered by any force be it personal or administrative, while we urge you to take into consideration: The public interest, Economic and social consequences, if the white papers are not timely presented, political Upshots that might against the Osun 2023 education summit if you do not act fast.

“Kindly note the consequences of the delay in the presentation of the white paper are Poor academic performance of the students In coming examinations, Waste of state resources in financing the 2023 Education Summit, Increase in the cost of policy implementation as the inflation rate of the country is getting higher, and Subjecting the Osun State government to a toothless dog.

“Conclusively we look forward to seeing your positive actions towards the timely presentation of the white paper and strict implementation of the recommendations of the 2023 Education Summit” it concluded.
