GIPHY is one of the most popular websites on the internet
that lets you convert videos from YouTube and Vimeo into GIFs. Apart from
videos, you can also make GIFs and stickers from photos. While the service is
free to use, it requires users to sign up using their email ID.
1. Head over to the GIPHY website and tap on the ‘Create’
button that appears at the top right.
2. On the page that loads, paste the URL of the YouTube
video you just copied and hit enter.
3. Now, a new window will appear where you will be able to
trim the video and choose which part you want to convert to a GIF.
4. Click on the ‘Continue’ button and wait for some time for
the conversion to complete.
5. You can also choose to make it loop normally or reverse
and add effects of your choice.
6. Once done, press on the ‘Continue to Upload’ or
‘Download’ button, following which a new screen will appear where you will be
able to add tags, source URL and choose to add the GIF to your collection.

GIFit!
Don’t want to use websites to make a GIF? Try GIFit!, a
free-to-use extension that works with Chromium-based browsers like Google
Chrome and Microsoft Edge. This is probably the fastest and best way to create
GIFs from YouTube, but the customisation options are pretty much limited.
1. Once you download and install the plug-in, just open the
YouTube video you want to turn to GIF from and you will see the GIFit! button
at the bottom right of the fullscreen button.
2. Choose the starting and ending point, width and height of
the GIF, the frame rate and the quality of the GIF.
3. When done, tap on the red ‘GIFit!’ button, wait for a few
seconds and you will get the option to download the newly generated GIF on the
same screen.
