The Airline of the Islamic Republic of Iran branded as Iran Air has added Boeing 737 to its domestic fleet
According to the Iranian Ministry of Road and Urban
Development’s website, Ghorbanali, by adding this aircraft to Iran Air’s fleet,
1,200 seats will be added to the company’s seat capacity, especially in
domestic flights.
Further explained that the aircraft will be used for
emergency domestic flights, and due to the increase in demand for air travel,
especially in April and May, emergency flights will be added to flight routes
such as Tehran-Mashhad, Tehran-Shiraz, and Tehran-Bandar Abbas.
The flag carrier of Iran, which is headquartered at Mehrabad
Airport in Tehran is commonly known as
Homa which is the name of a mythical Persian phoenix or griffin, and also the
acronym of Iran National Airlines in the Persian language.
As of 2023, it operates scheduled services to 72
destinations in Asia and Europe. Iran Air’s main bases are Imam Khomeini
International Airport and Mehrabad International Airport, both serving Tehran,
the capital of Iran.
