Award-winning Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has wrapped up the era of his fourth studio album titled ‘Timeless’ with Kante’s visuals.
Davido who is set for a new era released the official music
video for ‘Kante’, featuring Nigerian songstress, Fave.
‘Kante’ is the 10th track off ‘Timeless’, one of the
standout tracks from the Grammy-nominated album which was released in March
2023.
On his X handle, Davido appreciated his family and fans for
their unwavering support, noting that their support has been the backbone of
the era.
The singer said he now looks forward to a new era of new
music and new milestones.
He wrote: “Dropping the ‘Kante’ video today, and I’m flooded
with emotions. This isn’t just a release—it marks the end of our ‘Timeless’
era. From every ticket sold to every city we visited, your love and energy
turned every moment into history. We’ve faced everything—from sold-out shows
and sleepless nights to the highest of highs and lowest of lows and through it
all, God kept us standing!
“To my fans and family – Thank you is not enough. Your
support has been the backbone of this era. As we close this chapter, know that
you fueled our journey.
“The ‘Timeless’ era is ending, but our story continues. New
chapters, new music, new milestones await and I can’t wait to step into them
with you. We are about to go bigger than ever.”
In the video released on Wednesday, Davido perfectly
complements the sultry lyrics with choreography. The singer blends old-school
style with the popular Tshwala Bam dance.
On her part, Fave blesses the track with her alluring and
electrifying presence as she continues to sing passionately to her love
interest.
Davido rose to fame with his 2012 hit ‘Dami Duro’ under HKN
Music.
Davido established DMW, his music label, in April 2016.
The label has served as home to music talents such as
Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Dremo.
In March, Davido rebranded his label to DMW 2.0 and unveiled
two new artistes — Morravey and Logos Olori.
Last year, Davido earned his first-ever nomination for the
Grammy Awards in three categories, including ‘Best Global Album’ for his latest
album, ‘Timeless’.
Others were ‘Best African Performance’ for his song
‘Unavailable’ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’ for his track ‘Feel’.
He also lost the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ to ‘Pashto’
by Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain Featuring Rakesh Chaurasia, and
‘Best Global Album’ to Shakti’s ‘The Moment’.
Fave, on the other hand, hit the spotlight after the success
of her 2021 release ‘Baby Riddim’.
In January, the songstress called out Davido for performing
their collaborative single without her.
Davido, however, reconciled with Fave by inviting her to
perform ‘Kante’ with him at his recent concert at Madison Square Garden, USA.
