A team of officials of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), led by the Director NEW TVET, Institution Registration Department, Dr. (Mrs) Fatima Kabir Umar over the weekend were at Iseyin on implementation and physical infrastructure inspection visit, towards the process of accreditation of four courses for Iseyin College of Science and Health Technology, Iseyin.
The team met with the Proprietor of the College, Mr Adewale
Owoseni, the Acting Provost, Mr Peter Ibiyosi and the management members of the
institution, who took the visitors around the school facilities after series of
meetings with the hosts.
While speaking with newsmen after the visit, Dr. Fatima
hinted that the visit was hinged upon assessing the readiness of the
institution to offer courses in medical and health technology.
“We came on masterplan implementation and physical
infrastructure inspection to the school and we have done all the needful to
assess the readiness of the school to train students in health technology.
“The school authority made good preparations ahead our
arrival and we are impressed with what we saw on ground,” she stated.
The Proprietor, Iseyin College of Science and Health
Technology, Mr. Adewale Owoseni said the institution has put all necessary
things in place to train students that will make positive impacts in the
medical practice in Nigeria and beyond.
He added that the three courses that the NBTE team came to
inspect the school for include National Diploma in Medical Laboratory
Technology, National Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology and National Diploma
in Community Health Technology.
“These three courses are most important in the medical
industry and we are poised to train students that will not just get
certificates without job, but those that will easily get employment
opportunities and as well establish personal health facilities of their owns to
provide health services to the people.
“We appreciate the NBTE team, led by Dr. Fatima Kabir Umar,
for coming this far for the inspection and sincerity of purpose, as they have
put us through on the areas we must work on for speedy accreditation,” he said.
