May Edochie is making her first appearance in the motion picture titled “Wives on Strike.”


Queen May Edochie, the former wife of renowned Nigerian actor Mr. Yul Edochie, is poised to make her acting debut in the highly anticipated Nollywood blockbuster titled “The Uprising: Wives On Strike 3”.

The Nigerian entrepreneur, who utilized her Instagram account @mayyuledochie to formally announce the trailer for her inaugural forthcoming motion picture, expressed her profound excitement regarding the film.

As she expresses her appreciation for the director, Omoni Oboli, she eagerly anticipates the release of the upcoming cinematic blockbuster, “Wives On Strike 3: The Uprising,” and looks forward to sharing it with her fans and movie enthusiasts.

The motion picture, directed and produced by Oboli, “Wives On Strike 3: The Uprising,” serves as a continuation of the “Wives on Strike” and “The Revolution” series, which were released in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

The director previously made the announcement on her Instagram page with the initial trailer for the film, which depicted Edochie playing a drum in an attempt to gather individuals.

The highly anticipated moment has arrived, and I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of gratitude and exhilaration. The return to the big screen with “The Uprising: Wives on Strike” is akin to a homecoming, evoking a deep sense of belonging and purpose.

The franchise presents a narrative centered around a group of market women who engaged in a form of protest by withholding intimacy and other privileges from their husbands. Their objective was to compel the men to take action against an unjust situation Involving an underage girl forced into marriage against her will by her father.

The subsequent Installment, titled “The Revolution,” was released in 2017. This sequel centered on the same group of women who took a courageous stand against domestic violence after their friend tragically lost her life at the hands of her husband.

The previous Installments of the franchise featured prominent actresses such as Omoni Oboli, Sola Sobowale, Chioma Chukwuka, Uche Jumbo, and Ufuoma Mcdermott, among others.

As per Obolis’ announcement on Instagram, “Wives on Strike 3: The Uprising” is scheduled for theatrical release in Q4 2024.
