Simisola Kosoko, a well-known Nigerian musician who goes by the stage name Simi, has stated that with the exception of her husband, singer Adekunle Gold, she does not listen to music by other artists.

During a recent interview on the ‘Zero Conditions’ podcast, she disclosed that her exclusive preference for Gold’s music stems from their marital relationship.

Simi said, “I don’t listen to anybody’s music, the reason I listen to my husband’s songs is because I’m married to him.

“I like Post Malone’s first album ‘Beerbongs & Bentleys’. love J.Cole. I don’t listen to anybody’s music. Nothing changed. I just don’t know.

“I don’t really listen to anybody’s music. The reason I’m listening to my album now is because it just came out. In few weeks, I probably won’t listen to it as much as I do now.”

Simi and Adekunle Gold entered into a marital union in January 2019 and have been blessed with a daughter, Adejare.

In January, Gold released the music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” a song commemorating their fifth wedding anniversary.

“Look What You Made Me Do” is featured in Gold’s fifth studio album, “Tequila Ever After,” which was released in 2023.
