The Femi Otedola Foundation has generously contributed N5 million to the Olayode family, who recently welcomed quadruplets into their lives. This donation adds to the remarkable outpouring of support from Nigerians, who have collectively raised over N19 million through online donations to assist the family.
The Olayode family's situation gained widespread attention
on social media after a colleague, Oyeniran James, shared their challenges on
X.com in July. Under the Twitter handle #jamysax, James highlighted the family’s
struggles, including the staggering number of 105 diapers used by the
quadruplets in just six days.
This revelation sparked an overwhelming wave of generosity,
with Nigerians coming together to donate millions in support of the family.
Recognizing the Olayode family’s urgent need for assistance, the Femi Otedola
Foundation, renowned for its philanthropic endeavors, stepped forward on Monday
to present a substantial check of N5 million to the family.
The check was presented by Mr. Philip Akinola on behalf of
the foundation.
In addition, Mr. Otedola generously offered scholarships for
the education of two of the children up to the university level.
Sharing the news on X.com on Monday night, James wrote,
“Guyssssssssssssssssss, Guess what ????
“#realFemiOtedola sent representatives to offer a ceque of
N5m to the parents of the quadruplets and also he offered scholarship for the
education of twpof their kids till university. I’m in tears, guys.”
This contribution follows Airtel Nigeria’s donation of N2
million to the family.
The Olayodes, who initially anticipated the arrival of a
single child, were pleasantly surprised by the birth of quadruplets—two male
and two female infants.
